The Dunwich Horror
A good read, but I'm a bit confused. So did Old Whateley have sex with his Lavinia to impregnant her with the seed of Yog-Sothoth? And how did Wilbur die(they showed him dead but never mentioned as to what killed him)? How did Yog-Sothoth manifest itself(it obvioulsy didn't appear out of nowhere)? And at the end, it says "Wizard Whateley", are they referring to Wilbur or his grandpa?

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I see that this topic is a few months old, but I wanted to add...
Wilbur was killed by the guard dog. It is stated that "the dog had torn off all the clothing and some of the skin", that "bits of shoe leather and and fragments of apparel were scattered about the room", and it's mentioned that "the dog's rending paws still rested watchfully" on his chest. Also, there was a revolver on the floor in the same scene which had a defective bullet in it "explaining why it had not been fired" (at the dog, since there was no one else there). Prior to this, Armitage hears the dog barking and growling with "hideously significant pauses" until he finally hears the terrible inhuman scream that must have been Wilbur as he was ripped apart by the dog.

I agree with moongirl6 (do we have five other moongirls?), it was the dog. But I don't think it was a case of incest, I think I read somewhere that Yog Sothoth physically manifests himself at times, and it wouldn't surprise me if he had osme sort of avatar or disguise, like Zeus used to use when he philandered about half of the Hellenic world.

those olympians were like the 'furries' of today.. taking the form of animals to get their freak on
A monkey riding a dog is probably the awesomest thing that could ever happen.
