Well, I have always been a casual gamer (i.e. I have a life outside of playing games) but today, my life, and my will to live, were utterly ripped from me without mercy.
I got a game for xmas for my pc called Lineage 2: The Chaotic Chronicle. it is a massively multiplayer online game, fantasy based, and up until this, I had not really jumped onto the mmorpg bandwagon. For one reason, they are all extremely similar according to the gaming press I am party to, and expensive as hell to have a ccounts for several at one time.
Well, I installed the game, gave it a chance to thrill me into being a new addict, and BAM, I am now a junkie of the talltest order!
I have very little time in which to sit and engage myself in this completely immersive game world, but when I have the time, it will be spent getting a fix of orcs, hunting, clan battles, and eventually, when my dude is badass enough in level, siege a castle and become Lord of the Land (rock!).
I am a sad, sad little man. Between my daily responsibilities for hearth and home, and my photography and music making stuff, this game is sadly only taking up a couple hours of my time so far. however, in that short amount of real world time, I have amassed 500 adena (gold) and reached level 6. I have slain a werewolf, used his head as a hat, and met 3 guys from Canada and formed a clan of budding badasses who search the countryside for moronic hellspawn to kill, loot, and laugh over. Life is good, even when the needle is, as I write this...empty...There is always another dose
