Temple of Dagon

Post by madhu »

Temple of Dagon send their Lovecraftian greetings from North Hollywood, California and Book of Azathoth is their demo recorded sometime this year.
Aesthetically this is a journey into Lovecraft's universe: Dagon was the title of a story of H.P. Lovecraft written back in 1917 and Azathoth was a deity in the Cthulhu Mythos and Dream Cycle stories. Music wise this is a blending of crust, grind and metal with metal-edged guitar riffs, heavy as expected and rhythm section that builds a metal background for the angry screamed/yelled vocals and the heavy guit sound. Tracks are fast (but not so fast) with slower parts and the sound quality is excellent, there's no much variety but the band keeps the stuff far from being monotonous and boring with beat changes and smart riffs, even the six minute long "GARP" is a nice track, lyrically they probably walk in the same Lovecraftian pathways, artwork was made by Doomsday Graphics. This is nice for the metal orientated crusties and crust orientated metal heads
