The R4 OS is simple to use and is easily skinnable. On boot up, the user is greeted with a colourful option screen to select games, multimedia or to a boot slot 2 device. For some strange reason, when browsing for a game to load, the file browser is displayed on the top screen. This defeats the purpose of having the touch screen enabled in the OS and instead the user must use the D-pad to select the game to load.
