The Green Lady's Collections

Post by GreenLadyInn »

Hello, everyone!

I just wanted to take a chance and finally come out of the shadows. I've lurked here for a while, and really like the site, and finally have something to show off, so I thought I'd sign up.

Here's my latest sculpture, a Lovecraft Inspired beastie, now for sale on eBay here: http://tinyurl.com/4rf6gu

Let me know what you think!

Man, I can't help but think it's a bad sign when my sculpture gets that kind of reference....

i think the wax is kinda upstaging the specimen. is it meant to be sealing wax? anyway, a lot of that effect might be from the lighting. if you get the light coming from inside somehow, more of the important details would probably jump out of a photo.

Thanks guys, I'm not as pleased with that one either, but for a first work, I thought it turned out well. The wax was in response to a large Screw inserted into the top of the Jar, but I agree, it seems a bit overpowering. It is pretty red in that picture, too....

Here it is a few days ago, the first time I'd seen it since the client received it almost a year ago.

I'm really quite pleased with the planned breakdown of the sealants. I intentionally seal the piece in different layers so that the first few break down, discoloring and aging it, and adding some texture to the liquid. I wasn't too sure how it would work out, but so far it looks pretty great.

Specimen #102 is still available on eBay for anyone that wants to add it to their personal collections until tomorrow evening here: http://tinyurl.com/4rf6gu

That earlier piece looks a lot better in the more recent photo.

Thanks, Ian... I actually spent a good amount of time trying to find a mix of sealants and whatnot to use that would break down over time and actually make it look more realistic, and after not seeing that piece for almost a year, I was kind of worried, but it seems to have held up great. Eternities End, I don't have one really... I have a Comic Art Fans website here: http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=9326 though it hasn't been updated in a while, and I have some of my stuff for sale here: http://GreenLadyInn.etsy.com though it's going to primarily be for my wife's jewelry and whatnot. Most of my work is on a private commission basis, and a lot of them prefer to keep some mystery about the origins of their pieces...

Here's my newest piece, Specimen #405

Which will be available on eBay tomorrow evening around 6pm here: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZavalon_ink
