ATTN Artsy People: Necronomicon Cover Art Needed
Posted: Mon Mar 05, 2007 7:50 pm
I've been away from the board for a while, to say the least.
And the return is a perfect one, if any: me and my fellow publisher are looking for cover art for the Estonian translation of Simon's Necronomicon.
Bluntly we can't afford to pay you for your art for simple monitary reasons, but what we can do is of course send you free copies and your name will appear in the covers with your artwork copyrighted.
I don't know, sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me, if I was skilled at drawing creepy stuff and was also a HPL fan (the last part I am).
Guidelines? Not cartoonish, no monsters, no silly stuff. We want atmosphere and brooding darkness. Basically I've announced a small contest over at www.deviantart.com and looked up some pictures there.
Another publisher was supposed to publish my translation of The Necro but under mysterious circumstances their leading member started getting all sorts of mishaps and accidents, rendering his acitivities short-handed (hahaha) and so I and my fellow artist buddy decided to pick up what they couldn't handle.
It's basically a small publishing house set up just to publish the necro and a few books on chaos magick. Thus very limited finances (probably be in debt for some time but it's soooo worth it, in my opinion, as a Lovecraft admirer).
So.
Adrian is back.
With an offer that's hard to refuse.
And I also use cheesy lines.
Anyone interested can email me or post a link here with their art. Me and my friend will choose the winner from the submitters. I also took the liberty to email a few artists on ToD page and ask about their work directly.
Thanks for your time and future art.
