------old post--------------------------------
I would suggest that they be whittled down to 32 in this thread. Anything receiving 2 votes for elmination would be taken from the list until only 32 remain. The 32 could then be bracketed against one another and voted on. The process would be repeated until only 1 was left.

We'll give everyone 2 votes per day, non-cumulative. If you miss a day, you miss those votes.

The polls on each pair of stories could be done in separate threads. The running results could be posted here.

There would be no hurry to run through them all and it would provide an occasion to review his work.

Am I the only one that liked "The Tree" and "The White Ship"?

Pretty much. The Tree was decent, but not worthy of being included on the list.

Yea, I liked the terrible old man. My favorite is The Picture in The House though. It's the first Lovecraft story I read, and if I had read any other one I doubt I'd have gotten into HPL.

"The Terrible Old Man" was horrible! Even if he fleshed it out into something more substantial I doubt it would be any better. "Picture In The House", however, is amazing.

Man Terrible Old Man was cool. Theres something cool about a freeky ass old man that kills people and talks to a bunch of jars. The Picture in The House however seemed rushed and half assed!

I think I left the rules incomplete. We'll give everyone 2 votes per day, non-cumulative. If you miss a day, you miss those votes.

My votes for today go to The Street and the Evil Clergyman.

So far then,

The Tree (out +1!)
The Evil Clergyman (out)
The White Ship (out)
The Street (1)
Hypnos (1)
The Terrible Old Man (1)
