So that's why there aren't as many artists around here as I thought there would be...

GreenLadyInn, I like the idea of the specimen jar as art, but it looks to me like you've bene using off-the-shelf jars. Have you ever considered doing something to the glass, such as etching it, chipping it, or even working with a glassblower?

that last screw-top jar does look less unique than the earlier ones. what's the smallest one of these you've attempted?

Without a doubt the most recent is the smallest, it's barely an inch and half tall.


Frankly, I don't make enough money on these currently to spend much on the jars, I try to find ones as unique as possible, but I live in a city of 50,000 and sometimes I've gotta take what I can find. Once I've got more of a portfolio and start selling more I think the glassblowing idea would be really great. I'm looking into a few other ideas too, like artificially aging the jars themselves and things, we'll see! Thanks for the suggestions!!!
