That's hilarious!
Me, I'm looking forwards to this film. The 1st was brilliant and with davey jones & the Kraken in this one, it's looking even better. At least it'll distract me from all the horro remakes floating around nowadays.... if it 'aint broke, don't fix it... I can't belive that they've re-made The Omen what's wrong with the origional? and The Fog?... that's one of my favourite films of all time why remake that? My theory is that we're living in a generation that refuses to explore it's own horrors and that's why the horror films today are all tamed down remakes of older movies. The only decent horror movies of recent times are Hostel, and Silent Hill (I think)....
i didn't have any strong feelings about it.. i thought it was sorta fun, keith richards pirate voice and everything. but you hated it? it was offensive to your soul?
A monkey riding a dog is probably the awesomest thing that could ever happen.

yeah, it seems he's taking that path... Depp version 2 with bigger muscles, which isn't a bad thing... really....
Everyone should lighten up about pirates of the carribean, it's not really worth the opinon. It's a movie based on a theme park ride after all, and it;s fun which is all you really need in a mainstream "family" movie.
Better that than the pretentious nonsense of the recent star wars movies, with their quazi-religious posturing and silly moralising.

I think that "Donnie Darko" is the main comparison really... it's completely the kind of thing that you'd expect only Johnny Depp to be able to carry off convincingly. They both have a similar image and choose novel roles other "hearthrob" actors wouldn't be able to carry off and still remain objects of lust.
The main difference as far as I can tell is that Johnny Depp is actually a really interesting and funny character in real life. Dunno much about Jake really to be able to make a judgement other than that he's a good actor.
