Rudimentary Peni / Cacophony -early 80s hardcore Lovecraft
Anyone ever hear Rudimentary Peni's concept album, Cacophony? It's a rare treat for those who dig heavy music and Lovecraft. With songs like; Nightgaunt, The Horrors In The Museum, The Dead Loved, Arkham Hearse, The Evil Glergyman, and The Old Man's Not So Terribly Misanthropic. Great work. Though Nick Blinko, the lyricist/guitarist/vocalist could've taken more of the Lps material a little more seriously. He still, beyond a doubt, took the author who inspired the album serious enough to present a musical work that Lovecraft enthusiasts (those who also like heavy music) can definitely appreciate.

For those interested it's available on this site.

You can check out samples of the tunes here.
And as far as what a "peni" is? You'll just have to stir up some dust in the ol' brain pan, I reckon.
There's an adaptation of a Frank Belknap Long story as well, Beyond The Tanarian Hills.
