4.2.1 update created duplicate contacts

4.2.1 update created duplicate contacts
anyone else having an issue since the iOS 4.2.1 update for an iPhone4 where it creates duplicates of contacts? mostly 2 additional of a contact. so 1 will say updated 9/8/09 and 2 will say 11/22/10. and since I have it synced with my iCal I now have multiple birthdays showing up for some contacts. I have even restored since the update and still having the problem. any suggestions?
