A question for mad minds? Name that tune

We are doing several scenes in our haunted house this year based on Lovecraft stories. So, here is my question. What music would you hear playing on an old floor model radio in the lobby of The Gilman House? You just walked through the door to get a room for the night, the place reeks of old mildew, and the guy at the desk is a bit fishy. Music from an old radio echoes through the lobby.....What music is it? What is that tune that carries shades of your impending doom at the hands of deepone spawn?
Any ideas are welcome!

Something cheerful but of poor quality sound...it keeps cutting out...lollipop?

Good idea! That is on the list as a possibility. If I go that way then I want to find something from the time period of the story. 1927
