Good day,
I am a new member, but a long standing admirer of Lovecraft's body of work. Recently, I boldly took the step to become a published writer, but ironically, I myself read very little save for Lovecraft. Because of this, my language use (being a non-native speaker of English) is heavily influenced by his, though I would never be so bold as to compare myself to him.
I never intended to imitate him in any ways, so my debut piece is different in contents and tone, yet, if one seeks it, I suppose likenesses can be uncovered, though primarily in the use of words (and the love for excessively long sentences).
The point of this post being, rather shamelessly, to claim that indirectly my book is inspired by the Mythos. I too design strange deities and obscured realms of existence, but the nature of my work is different from his.

Well i myself am quite interested and am however yet to examine your work, i will say that i am also guilty of using the mythos to get my work read...although it uses similar concepts such as the deities of the mythos it is not strictly mythos related, although i have contemplated tying in a few of my favorite deities...

I can relate. I noticed there was another thread hereabout that might have been more fitting a place to post, but I did not want to post the same thing twice. Lovecraft might have inspired me more than I realize, but mainly it's in the use of words like "ichor" that his influence is most readily apparent. Other than that, I think he as a person has been important as well. He a rather twisted upbringing, for what I know.
