Lair of the Magus

Sorry that I haven't been around in a while but I've been working on a game and most of the art wouldn't really be appropriate to post here. However, this one is...

I would appreciate any critiques you might give. Also, I am wondering if anyone can tell who/what this guy serves

that is cool, but why so dim? the words in the corner are the brightest part
A monkey riding a dog is probably the awesomest thing that could ever happen.

Who's the boss?

Post by alx »

It is meant to be dark like that, he is in a sewer. All the sewer backgrounds in the game are like that...

Doesn't anyone want to hazard a guess as to who/what he worships?

Hidden secrets REVEALED!

Post by alx »

He is a lich, but I didn't want to go overboard and make him look like the generic wicked corpse... more like there is something subtly off

On his robe is the Yellow Sign, thus indicating that he works for a guy who should remain nameless. I also tried to give him a color scheme of ochre and vermilion but left yellow out of the palette (reserved for the king in yellow)

So was I too subtle?

i would try shading him more darkly on the left side to match the background lighting more, and it would be cool if you cast his shadow against that foreground column. maybe it could be a crazy scary shadow to satisfy ee

I'd put him in a Chicago Bears jersey.
