300 bucks! Good luck, I've seen 8 of those in my grade 12 art class...sorry to bring down the hard stuff

i understand where you're coming from. you're not an artist nor are you an art collector. there is, however, more to the value of a painting than the level of realism achieved. yes, you could paint something similar as my abstract, but it wouldn't look exactly the same, wouldn't have the same "soul", and it wouldn't have come from Venger Satanis.

normally, a 2' x 4' original work of art from an established artist would cost a buyer over a grand. double that if bought from a gallery instead of the artist himself. i'm only a couple years into my "art career" though. that's why "Ungodly Red-Green" is going for only $300. and if it doesn't sell, i'm going to proudly hang it in my own lower level. my girlfriend has already told me she loves it and wants a companion piece for the adjacent wall.
