An Introduction

Post by Ian Whateley »

This forum did say it was for introductions, right?

So, then, hello. My name is Ian Whateley. I have spent my entire life searching for a Lovecraftian forum. This is probably its apex. Although I am a little confused by the MUD.

the temple of dagon continues to draw the attention of strange seekers! what hideous and bizarre fates await these hapless pilgrims? SEE! booger-encrusted tentacles flailing through clouds of acidic vapor! WITNESS! the minds of men wrenched inside-out like so many overripe blood oranges! MARVEL! as layers of holographic illusion are peeled away from reality, baring the incomprehensible core of truth from which every god and mortal alike will reel in hysterical fright!

and have some pudding while you're at it!

i think you're supposed to get some software to run it. i don't follow the game, but i have noticed that questions are answered rather promptly in the mud threads.

I've never played a MUD before, but it looks interesting.
I have read all of Lovecraft's works (and almost no other Mythos works-well, a book called Cthulhu 2000, some Neil Gaiman Cthulhu parody, and what I call the retroactive-mythos) and done a little amateur Mythos writing, alone, so I suppose I'll take advantage of that.
So, how's life on these forums? I've seen enough to guess bacon will be in the answer, but other than that...

The game that seems to walk hand-in-hand with this temple and has its own board. I just think I figured out how to start using it and I'm elated. First time MUDer!

MUD has a twenty-percent find rate on moistened terrain, although it can be crafted with the items "Dihydrogen Monoxide" and "Soil".

Dihydrogen monoxide can suffocate people if there is too much of it in one room. Fish are immune to it though.
