New to Lovecraft

Post by tritlo »

Hi, i´m new to Lovecrafts stories, and i was wondering what books i should buy to get his collection. Currently i´m thinking of buying the 4 Arkham Books (The Dunwich Horror and others, Dagon and other Macabre tales, At the Mountains of Madness and other novels, and The Horror in the Museum and other Revisions). Should i just take those to start with, or should i buy some other package?

P.S Also, if i buy those books, in which order should i read the stories within?

Kthxbye, Tritlo

The Arkham house anthologies are really nice, I have a set, but will run a pretty penny. If you're just starting I'd suggest the Del Ray set.

I finally gotThe Necronomicon: The Best Weird Fiction of H.P. Lovecraft recently. It's brilliant. I also have Crawling Chaos: Selected Works, 1920-35 which I go back to fairly regulary. One of my favourite non lovecraft mythos books is The Starry Wisdom: A Tribute to H.P. Lovecraft because it's really creative and broad in it's scope. [/url]
