'crouch end' by stephen king

Post by JJ Burke »

hey now, the TNT cable network is putting out a series of stephen king shorts from a book called nightmares & dreamscapes which i read in high school. i think it's probably the first place i remember seeing the name 'nyarlathotep.'

anyway, tonight's installment included 2 episodes.. the first one is about a guy fighting little green army men, but the second one is 'crouch end.' i only caught the end of it on tv, but there's a part where the main character is walking past a series of signs bearing mythos names and phrases. later her husband is eaten by a sort of 3-headed hydra type thing which is referred to as 'the goat with a thousand young.'

i think 'crouch end' was probably my favorite story in that book, from what i can remember of it
A monkey riding a dog is probably the awesomest thing that could ever happen.

Isn't there graffiti in "The Lost Boys" that reads 'Yog-Sothoth rules'?

Might be in the book. I read about it somewhere, but it might have been a different story.

"Crouch End" can be found in the Nightmares & Dreamscapes anthology as well as Eternal Lovecraft. I read it in the latter collection, and it was one of the better stories.

That was in Needful Things, not Crouch End. I think.

That sounds like the story "Battleground", from an earlier collection.
