I made a Polaris based game beta

Post by whenthen »

After starting reading Lovecraft, I was quite inspired, and wanted to make a simple game based on one of his stories. I started with a game based on "The Temple", but postponed it, and now program a game based on "Polaris":

It's still a BETA. The objective of the game, like in the story, is to send soldiers to the passes where Inuts are likely to come from. In the complete version I plan to add the Pole Star, that will from time to time sing it's poem or send pulses of light, and the player has to either shut his ears (turns off sound from the game) or close eyes (he sees nothing) whenever this happens, or he will slowly fall asleep (it will cause blinking and impaired vision at first, and loss if the sleep meter is too high).

I will be happy if you give suggestions to improvements of the game, and I also need someone with a talent to create a recording of what the Pole Star chant would sound like.

Ok, I now converted it to a JAR (to support sound), and added some sounds (combat sounds and sounds that occur when Inuts manage to reach the city).

I am still looking for someone to sing the Pole Star poem...
