Now for a story... it will be difficult, it will be trecherous ground, I shall walk softly and carry a big stick, but I shall do it!... sometime in the future

Now I figure that Nyarlathotep is just all the prophets. Moses, for bringing Chaos to Egypt, and also of 'royal' blood. Jesus, for in Dreams in the Witch House he's going to lead the narrator to Azathoth, and Muhammod for being the crawling chaos.

I also remember reading somewhere that several Great Old Ones were banished by Azathoth for some revolt. If that info is right then they'd be the fallen angels, along side the Yith, who are the ones that posses people, as they posses races to continue their lives. Think of it as the banished Great Old Ones would be the 7 Great Evils, or however many there are, and the Yith as just normal demons.Cthulhu could either be both a Fallen Angel and the Leviathin or Dagon could be the Leviathin.

I'm planning on doing an in depth study into this once I get all my school shit out of the way.

Here's something i've always wondered about...

So, you know how the Merovingian Kings were said to be the children of Mary Magdalen and a Sea Monster? And they said that to hide that the father was Jesus? Anybody know of a mythos sea monster that likes interbreeding with humans? So... maybe Dagon is Jesus, the phillistene god of wheat? If so, who is God? Cthulhu? Did Cthulhu really create Dagon? Could humans really tell the difference?

Also, I once heard from a friend who actually cares about this stuff (and would be correct in guessing I don't) that Muhammad just took one of the gods from the current pagan pantheon and decided THAT was the one true god. As it turns out, the symbol of that God (Allah) was a crescent moon... you know, like that flag. So Dagon is Allah AND Jesus? Whatev.

As for Nyarlathotep, he is everyone, but also keep in mind that a small, extremist, cult-like peversion was able to actually summon God, the goddess of burning children. So... maybe it wasn't all Nyarlathotep's doing. Heck, maybe Vertigo was the real source of Quetzalcoatl! Also Lazors!
look at the time... with your eyeballs.

go on now, do it.

I suggest trying the eastern religions... Kali the Goddess of Death... Ganesha even looks like a cthuloid deity... You may have a good shot at it

as for the teachings of Cathol... Cathol is an amalgam of paganism and early christianity. it was the only way to get agans to worship the same deities and same holidays, just different names... I'm not slaming the religion, it works for people so right on for them, you know? How about Mormonism... the golden plates of prophecy handed down to Brigham Young... Morona the Angel with the trumpet... does that sound like an Elder God Playing his flute... You could really have some serious fun with this... I will have to ponder on this post...

I suppose one could even tie in the polytheism formerly practiced in Mormonism and still used in other religions as some unspeakable rite of Shug-Niggurath. Goal of producing a thousand young/followers?

Good God. The new revelations astound me! Seriously, so much more I haven't thought of.

I'm staying away from eastern religion because I don't know it well, and the Semetic religions are much harder compare with anyways. I like the challenge.

I could see Cthulhu being more of a Moses. he led his people from bondage; directed the exodus to the promised land, just as he wold be doing ushering in the new era of the Old Ones. In a more new testament vein Cthulhu would perhaps be best associated with saint paul(Saul of Tarsus)
