I asked D what he was talking about and he came back with snakes eating their tales and 'ass canyons'. Since it seemed impossible to formulate any considerable response to what looked mainly like irate gibberish, I essentially signed off, giving him links to information he asked for.

Does that make it 'me vs. you'? I also asked you what you were referring to, but you told me in a few words, I agreed and that was the end of it.

I don't think my ego's gotten the better of me. But D carries on like this all the time.

Bah, you know damn well what I was saying. Picking out the sarcasm and ignoring the overall post is clever, but not brilliant. Oh well, I tried.

now, in this heightened tension, your response to my observation was defensive. i'm not faulting you for that, i'm just making another observation regarding the effects of rancor in a discussion. you didn't just respond to my remarks, but also to the environment which this thread has become.

that's all i'm trying to say. i don't genuinely care enough about politics to pick a side here, so for my part i'm trying to help moderate the discussion and keep it from becoming ugly and pointless

I am not the least bit upset, as I said in my post before the previous one I made.

Again, pointing out random lines from my post, and claiming I "carry on like this all the time" is not engaging in the debate, which, ironically, was between myself and the other person to whom I was originally speaking.

It amuses me that, when asked to clarify a post, I am told I make no cognitive sense, when the part of my post which is labeled nonsense is not the post, but a line from it that is used as comedic invective within the context of stating something.

Again, not going to fly. Bait denied.
