Analog Science Fiction is pretty good, but it's more space-opera than dystopian, though.

arkham press sent me issue #11 of lovecraft's weird mysteries, and i sent back a check for $5. it felt like the olden tymes when you didn't have to pay before pumping gas. it contains 3 original short stories, a reprint of 'the truth about pyecraft' by hg wells, and a 1950s horror comic. it's a saddle-stitched 5.5"x8.5" booklet, 48 black & white pages including cover.

i like the overall design, even if it's a little rough. he wants story submissions for future issues.. i think some of the writers here could do better than issue #11. it's a cool magazine though. if you like micro press goodies, i recommend supporting it.

it's 7 bucks if you're not in the usa or canadia (on the honor system with their 'no-hassle offer'). i suppose if you want to be a stingy old sphincter, you could send some fraction of the asking price along with an essay on why he doesn't deserve the full amount.

oh yeah, since the late 80s.. sometimes in a quaint small town, there's a possibility of pumping first. but for the most part, we don't trust each other (and for good reason)
