Hi all, new member here. Having read and finding myself sucked into the whole Cthulu mythos, I'd interested in reading a bit more (in printed form, not on a screen!) about our man HP Lovecraft.
Amazon UK have some biographies of the man, I'm just wondering if anyone can recommend me a really good one?

I just ordered ones on Philip K. Dick and Arthur C. Clarke - a Lovecraft one would be a nice companion for those two. :P

Cheers Rodr, I read one on Asimov before and it was fantastic so thought I'd give some more a try.

As far as I know, the most comprehensive biography is the one by S.T. Joshi, which I read some months back. It runs to around 900 pages, I think, and is fairly thorough.

Yes, it's good. It's far from perfect, but I haven't seen anything better.

Try Dreamer on the Night Side by Frank "Belknappius" Long. It encapsulates everything about HPL that made him so memorable, from his dislike of straight-backed chairs to his remarkably kind demeanor.
