Wildhorse 3 remedies this Image with a more substantial, double-layered mesh upper and a welded rand that extends from the outer midfoot to the region behind the big toe on the inner side of the shoe. The inner layer of the upper is super-soft and feels great against a bare foot ¨C I¡¯ve worn them sockless several times with no issue short of the development of a terrible stink (I¡¯ve since ceased sockless usage to spare my family¡).

Nike Free 4.0 Flyknit soleSole ConstructionLike the upper, the sole of the Free 4.0 Flyknit is super flexible and moves really well with the foot. The sole is typical of other Nike Free shoes in having individual pods separated by deep grooves to maximize flexibility. The drawback of the grooved sole is that the grooves do tend to collect rocks and pebbles, but this has never really bothered me in any of the Frees and they are easy enough to get out by taking the shoe off and flexing the sole around after a run.

Nike Free 3.0 2015 Medial--In terms of function and fit, I¡¯ve come to love the upper on this shoe. It isn¡¯t nearly as tight-fitting as I anticipated, and it does a great job of securing my foot against the sole. My Nike Air max Thea Pas Cher guess is that fit and security will be highly dependent on foot shape ¨C if you have a particularly wide foot it may feel a bit restricting, if you have a narrow foot you may have some lack of security, though in the latter case the laces may help a bit. Personally, I haven¡¯t cinched the laces at all and tension in the upper weave is pretty much solely responsible for keeping the shoe on my foot.

Any issues I had today I don¡¯t blame so much on the shoes, but rather on my approach to using them. If you plan to try out the Free 3.0¡¯s, respect the advice to ease your way into training with them. I figure I can go up to 10 miles or so in them without trouble, but I need to slowly work my way up to distances further than that. I won¡¯t be using them for this coming marathon in Vermont (I¡¯ll probably wear my Saucony Fastwitch 2¡¯s), but I wouldn¡¯t discount their use in a marathon at some point down the road as I strengthen the foot and leg muscles that they target. The Free 3.0¡¯s are remarkably comfortable just to wear around the house, and they¡¯re worth a try for anyone wanting to work their way into the minimalist running approach. Mine are guaranteed a spot in my rotation, and who knows, they might just take their spot exclusively.

Nike Wildhorse 2 sideI chose the Wildhorse due to consistently positive feedback from trail runners (I was debating between this one and the Terra Kiger 2, but went with the Wildhorse since the Kiger 2 has already been reviewed on Runblogger by David Henry). It was also one of the top five trail shoes chosen by readers in my 2014 trail shoe survey. Combine the high praise with a good deal from Running Warehouse on a closeout color and I was sold. I¡¯m happy to repor Nike Air Max Thea Femme France t that the shoe lives up to the hype ¨C I¡¯m loving it!

The only major problem I could see with the Wildhorse was that it was very similar to another shoe that has gotten rave reviews: the Nike Terra Kiger. I haven¡¯t tried the Kiger myself, but the upper is supposedly softer and more comfortable, and the added zoom air unit in the forefoot should provide a softer ride up front. The extensive overlap between the two shoes was a bit puzzling, and apparently Nike agreed since version 3 of th Nike Air Max 1 Pas Cher e Kiger and Wildhorse sees them start to diverge more significantly.
