"Since freshman year, I've always battled Rye's Melissa Fulenwider in the 100 free," Kim said. "It was our strategy, though, to have Hannah Dari swim the 100 free at sections so I could try the butterfly. Anchoring her team in the 200 and 400 free relays, she sealed two first place performances with another all America consideration time of 1:38.16 in the 200 and a school record of 3:36.89 in the 400.

After guiding Clarkstown to the sectional title, Kim finally felt the pressure of a big meet at states.
