I signed up for something called fileplanet earlier, and it showed me some kinda open beta for a game that only members can access.
Well, the game is from the NCSoft, the company that publishes Guild Wars and City of Heroes (games I don't care for). I stole and installed the beta client, and....I might not sleep for week...
Autoassault is imminent!
No 2 loot items are the same. No death penalty. Drive big ass, fully customizable cars and such, right down to your own original paint and decals. Big ass guns. People to kill.
I am now a crack addict!
www.autoassault.com
The game's STORY alone got me interested. Then I started playing. Uh, if you play mmo games, and you like post apocalyptic stuff, this game might ruin your day....

Ive had my eye on this one as well, but Im still in recovery from about a year of MMORPG @ World of Warcraft. Might check it out tho, it looks different. Im sure loving the non-commital nature of single player games
Also been looking at Everquest 2 and D&D online previews, but the more I read, see, and hear about the latter, it's looking like an unfortunate stinker. This looks quite different tho.

I got on the D&D online beta. I'll pass. LOL. Everquest has never really interested me much. It reminds me of the 'elfquest' cartoons from the late 70's, early 80's and has about as much originality in its execution as my toenails.
I canceled my wow sub because they erased one of my character by mistake, and billed me 4 months ahead. I will go back someday. But the burnout is palpable.
Right now I am working on Unreal Tournament 2004 again, my dm server is Chaospoets Server. Come die with me...

Havent gotten any newer UT since the original
I got burned out bad on WoW, tired of nothing but running the same instances over and over for items. Plus, I was like second in command of the guild, and I spent most my time settling disputes, admin stuff on the banking/dues system we had, and diplomacy with other guilds, promoting members, and being an herbalist/alchemist always cranking out potions and getting herbs, I barely had any time to play. It just wasnt fun anymore, became more like a job.
Havent been much for shooters lately, I do have FarCry and "Land of the Dead:Road to Fiddler's Green" sitting on the shelf awaiting their time. Im more of an RPG/RTS gamer, tho right now I am playing thru Gun. Also back into Majesty & it's Northern Expansion. I got Age of Empires 3, Battle for Middle Earth, Warhammer 40k: DOW, and Gothic II sitting here gathering dust. Ive been wondering what the newer UT looks like, maybe Ill check it out, been a while since Ive played Deathmatch (quake 3).
And Ive been thinking about putting Fallout back on
Have you played that "Cthulhu:Dark Corners Of The Earth" on console yet? Im snapping that up as soon as the pc title is released.

I played Gun and I thought it was a great game. A bit to short, but overall a good game. I'm looking to get that Cthulhu:Dark Corners Of The Earth as soon as I can!

Here's the Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth
official site. Hopefully we'll be seein some PC version action fairly soon. I aint going console on this one, because I want to be able to tweak and patch it to my heart's content.
Oh yeah, that's what Im talkin bout-
I like Gun alot, the main problems I have with it tho are how the game runs on more than adequate systems and the save system totally sucks. Id like to be able to replay certain parts, like when you first make that run thru the mtns protecting that stagecoach, Id like to replay that entire segment of the game. Unfortunately, if you dont save it just right, youll end up halfway thru or something, and when you die you go to the last auto-save which is near where you croaked. All saves have you starting in a town. For being a shooter, I'd like to be able to play it as an FPS instead of exclusively over the shouldr third person.
Besides those little qualms, yeah, it's great fun, especially the horseback gunfights and just the horeseback riding itself is done very well. All the weapons even the bow and arrow are a blast to use.
