The Ichabod

this one came to be when I was looking around chick.com, and some would say my Lovecraft influenced stuff was very fucked up. This one entirely my own entity, if you want the atmospherics -- you got it here but it would be something a lot darker than what I've got published on here so far. Aleister -- you got yourself a new offsite link to post up here.

Enjoy -- other authors from Temple of Dagon are encouraged to sign the guestbook (Guests In The Fog) with the full http:// of their page on here. I will be updating my bio here too to reflect some of the publishing status too -- found out Observations Of An Abandoned Seminary got published. This is my first nonfiction sale.

This story will have the elements of Algernon Blackwood and William Hope Hodgson, two authors Lovecraft actually cite as an influence. This one is by far the darkest short story I wrote in a long time; some might say The House of Pain (Is All They Receive) is the darkest and the story I Want To See You In Black (for my book An Eye In Shadows.) I was writing this along with editing the new stories coming to Temple of Dagon and the magazine I've been working on.

:cthulhu1: ROFL! I so got an idea for a story from a Jack Chick pamphlet once! I called it Peter and the Pagan. Check it out here:

Jack Chick's stuff is always good for a laugh. The tract that inspired me was called "This Was Your Life".

I moved the story to Darklines.com but you get the idea here -- I got a new story in the works and looking to send it to Weird Tales titled Spectral Exile. The story is in the vein of my longer story that will be part of the Temple of Dagon anthology, and got a story in TPIII that is entirely science fiction.

there have been murmurs in the shadows about this anthology project, but nobody has given any specific information. is it all new stories? online, in print, both? any artwork? is there a theme? that kind of thing

Jesus Prime is in charge of the Temple of Dagon anthology -- TPIII just filled.

jp's been hanging around and flapping his yap on unrelated topics, but hasn't mentioned this project (at least out here in the forums for 2nd-class citizens).

meanwhile, those of us who give a rat's ass are kept in the dark

Jesus Prime needs time. Lots of it.

That's cool -- did you track down an artist yet for each story, I know someone who is looking for an artist gig. Talk to Paul Campbell, since I appeared with him on Tales of the Talisman. I actually want him to illustrate The Typewriter for a future issue of the magazine.

David Lee Summers appears on the second issue of my magazine with a story. So you're going to see a lot of swapping of authors between Tales of the Talisman and The Ethereal Gazette.

I am working on a new story right now which I am hoping to get placed in Weird Tales. It is a cross between Richard Matheson and Hunter S. Thompson in the feel, Matheson's dark flow with Hunter S. Thompson quirky moments. Supernatural Horror meets Gonzo Journalism sort of thing.
