The Restless Dead of Northern Maine

I just thought I would share this, for no particular reason...

My wife tends to fancy herself as something of a psychic. Tonight she was telling me that she felt that the wandering spirits of the dead were particularly confused or distraught in the area in which we currently live, (Northern Maine). However, she didn't know why this was.

I said it was probably due to the shrine of Shub-niggurath that Lovecraft said was hidden in Maine somewhere. She responded that she thought that would make perfect sense and that she thought that the shrine was almost definitely the reason.

I really need to have her committed sometime...

Lol, yeah that would not surprise me about certain parts of Northern Maine.

I have never been, so I cannot say too much.

Does she know much about Lovecraft? Or perhaps she thought you were reading some local historical lore?

Basically, all she knows about Lovecraft is that I like to write that type of story and that it typically contains a lot of big words that are hard to understand. Its not really her type of literature.

The main reason that she agreed that a shrine to Shub-niggurath might be causing the dead to be restless is because she heard once that all myths contain a kernel of truth. So, now she thinks that all fiction is really true.
