Who are the best or worst writers currently writing mythos fiction?

Anyone read:
Children of Cthulhu
Dead but Dreaming
Eldritch Blue
Miskatonic University
Shadows over Baker Street

How do you rate them?

I haven't even heard of those but then again I avoid all those modern Mythologists. Everyone tends to add too much of himself into the Mythos and not enough Mythos.

I do not think I have caught any of those either. I am always up for buying new mythos stuff that I happen to come across in a bookstore, but lately I have not really went out of my way to go looking for it...

I am still afraid that if I did, I would spend way too much money collecting :)

Welcome to the forum btw!

by E.A. Lovecraft
I've read Shadows over Baker Street. It has two or three worthwhile stories, a few semi-entertaining ones, and a lot of crap.

If you're the type of Lovecraft fan that blows a wad whenever some facet of the mythos is mentioned in a short story, (even if the story lacks such things as originality, cleverness, & plot), then this book is for you.

I'd say the book is worth borrowing or picking up for cheap at a used book store. It has an alternate-history tale by Neil Gaiman that's pretty damned cool.

Children of Cthulhu was rather good. Non Chaosium compilations can be very hit or miss quality wise.
