A Golf Wholesale Store missed four foot putt at the first hole spurred Hal Sutton on to complete the second round of the Greater Greensboro Classic in a meagre 64 shots to leave the rest of Ping i15 irons the field a mile behind. Well, five shots to be precise.
The Callaway big bertha irons gritty Ryder Cup star said that he had a bad day driving the ball, but everywhere you looked, Sutton was sitting pretty in the middle of the fairway and using his irons to good effect, overcoming some strong winds around the narrow Forest Oaks course in North Carolina.
Sutton slotted home 11 birdies, Titleist ap2 710 forged irons and Titleist ap2 irons offset by three bogeys for his 64, his lowest round of the season. He birdied all of the par 3s and par 5s at Forest Oaks Country Club to finish at 13-under 131.
