Trying to remember a story

I think this was lovercraft, or one of his contemporaries. The story is about a man walking across a swamp. he climbs a hill, and finds some old trolley tracks. following them, he sees a trolley stopped ahead, with no one inside. go goes inside and waits for the conductor to return. after a bit he hears some howling, and looks out the window, to see a figure int he conductors niform approaching. Needless to say it is no human, and he goes crazy and runs away.
I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the story.

"The thing in the moonlight" by Lovecraft and J. Chapman Miske.
That would be the story I believe.
Very good, one of my favorites.
Read it Online in the Temple archives

It was The Thing in the Moonlight, and the conductor had a long "pinkish" tentacle instead of a face; Nyarlathotep, or one of his minions, mayhap.
