How about a 70's hippie commune hiding a dark cult to an old god such as yog-sothoth...
investigators are there for a drug bust strike on something bigger...
I'm not very experienced as a writer so please help with this idea...

"The Case of Charles Dexter Manson"
"Cool Hair"
"The Bloom that Came to Sarnath"
"Pickman's Model Bong"
"The Floral String on the Doorstep"
"Never Trust (The Very Old Folk)"
"The Love Festival"
"The White Trip"
However, "The Alchemist" and "The Strange High House in the Mist" still seem appropriate titles for hippie-based Cthuliana.

The "hippies" could be dreamers and artists, drawn by Cthulhu, or some other entity, to a remote location in order to perform some rite or simply to be further brainwashed or initiated; perhaps a more extreme form of mind-control or influence previously exerted on the sculptor Wilcox, amoung others,in The Call of Cthulhu. I'm starting to get inspired and might start writing something based on this premise, myself.
