Meh I think the conspiracy is pretty moronic, why would the U.S. bomb their own major center of trade? People say it was a a hidden ploy by the government to wage war on Afghanistan in order gain access to their oil fields...why this isn't a bad argument, the reality is that the was is practically destroying the United States economy, decreasing the overall value of American currency to a level not seen in decades. All I can say is if this was a plan to make billions it sure backfired terribly, but perhaps its more of a long term solution...which is pretty ridiculous when you consider that democracy is a constantly changing process. I can understand how people could believe these theories back in 2001 or during the opening days of the war, but not now.

The only credence I lend to the Tin Hats is this:

Every Military financial transaction we make as a nation, went through both towers.

Note also, the Gulf of Tonkin incident, which was literally what kick-started the Vietnam War, and since then, Israel has admitted openly to staging that attack so that we would go into Vietnam for the resources we "surely" would gain.

If a country would do that back then, they would do it again. Since it isn't a state secret how Israel loses her panties over anything regarding Muslims, this is not a shock to me.

Do I think it was a U.S. Government Conspiracy? No. I think it was a fareign power that instigated all this, and some of our people were involved for their own personal gain.

This is not orwellian, or anything new. It is human nature at work. They just got away with it this time.

I will now rest my case.

The US is hardly a monolithic entity. The military-industrial complex is making a killing from the "war on terror". Hardly anyone expected to occupations to go this badly and they have placed US military assets in nice places, geopolitically speaking. Plus Operation Northwoods is a documented (though unimplemented) plan that shows that governments (not just the US government, I'm sure) are willing to take minor collateral damage to advance larger goals and "a new Pearl Harbor" was explicitly hoped for by the government pre-911. A couple of buildings, a section of the Pentagon and a couple of thousand people are acceptable losses in the big picture. And there is general weirdness about the whole thing, like the slow Air Force response times, Building 7 etc.

Then again, I've heard of no solid evidence. Until something new comes up, I think the conspiracy theories should be explored with both an open mind and a very large dose of healthy skepticism.

This is some of the info they give on why it happened, isnt this strange to have all these errily similar wargames going on before the attack?

The publicly available mass media articles about these exercises state that they were similar enough to the actual events that top NORAD personnel were confused, not sure if 9/11 was "part of the drill" or a real world event.

9/11 was a ploy to instate the [un]Patriot Act, diminish the UC Economy and USD to around the level of the Canadian Dollar and Mexican Peso, establish the North American Union (spp.gov), and get the New World Order a strong foothold.
