From my research I have found the below text:
"It is said that They will return, causing worldwide insanity and mindless violence before finally displacing humanity forever."
Does this event have a specific name?
I'm thinking of something like how the Christian's use Armageddon.
Thanks,

i'm not aware of any name given to the prophesied doomsday... but there should be one, with plenty of sibilants and apostrophes

well my research thus far has brought me to the following conclusion....
"When all the stars align" - is how I'm interpretting it. is also called the Harmonic Convergence.
It's funny because the Harmonic Convergence also has prophesized the end of the world.
Maybe these two events are linked?

Either way were fucked...even if one Great Old One manifests himself/herself they'll have enough power to wipe out humanity

Perhaps the prophets who wrote the Bible foresaw the return of the Great Old Ones, and Armageddon is their interpretation.
Just tossing that story angle out there.

Its a good angle...I find it funny at the amount of people who actually throw The Great Old Ones into their own personal religious beliefs

[my2cents] Time of "when the stars are right" are also known as "The Endtimes" [/my2cents]
Also, IMHO the "stars are right" might mean more than an astronomical/astrological event (It might refer to some other events facilitating Cthulhu awakening, as well)
Also, there may be more than one set of events that enable the possibility of Cthulhu awakening (i.e. either star disposition A + ritual B or star positions D or C with ritual E and an additional event F).

i agree, there's just not enough information given. it's a powerful mystery... why ruin it with answers?
