Notice the web site and other foo-faraw about the Cthulhu movie, with Tori Spelling?
I figure the chance of ever seeing this opus is pretty slim.
And from the little I'm able to glean, it's a rehash of "Shadows over Innsmouth"-a lot like the certainly watchable "Dagon".
Tori Spelling has had so much cosmetic surgery, she looks vaguely non-human.
It's the same story over and over again, why won't the film industry ever try a new idea?
It's five years between remakes, now, a pitiful state of affairs.
There actually are other stories that might make good films, ok?

the problem is that money has to come before everything else. nothing happens without money.. this is how tori spelling has an acting career in the first place

What I want to see is a film version of "Pickman's Model". Nothing happens, then a guy picks up a photo. Roll credits.

What was the title of that very good adaptation of the "Case of Charles Dexter Ward"?
I can never remember the title, but it was the best Lovecraft film so far.
And I liked "Reanimator"-it was funny, and even picked up the comic possibilities of the wax head, as well as being spooky in spots.
CGI may bring Lovecraft to the screen after all these years.

It is matched only by 'Bride of Re-animator'.

Yes, it was "The Resurected".
That movie caught to spirit of the tale.
Lovecraft is not easy to adapt, he very much relied on the techniques of the written page, and the way that a twist ending can be accomplished-twist endings often don't get across well in visual media.
And "Pickman's Model", in the hands of a skilled film maker, might make a very effective film, in the style of "Blair Witch".
