Context:

One thing I've always, always hated about World of Warcraft are the Role Players - people who pretend they are important, fictional characters in game , only more so than the people who choose not to role play. As kind as it was for Blizzard to isolate them from the rest of us sane, normal, healthy individuals who spend 30 or more hours a week in game raising our numbers for no real purpose, they recently allowed many of the Role Playing Servers to engage in Player Versus Player combat with the introduction of Battlegrounds.


All previous unfounded allegations that all Role Players are untalented idiots at playing the game properly were made into fact. Not only are they awful, and do you have to play with them, but when you try to tell them in the nicest of terms (Please, you dumb asshole...), they respond with fake dialects and "in character" jargon that translates to us normal poopsockers as "Dumb Ren Faire Idiot".


Then, a Something Awful good made me aware of this fantastic player created mod called FlagRSP, which just about every Role Playing server character uses to describe their in-game character, as well as how to interact with them.


Basically, they make fun of themselves for us. Which is good, because that suits the needs of Art of Warcraft quite nicely.

This is frickin funny...

In Terokar forest, in Outland, there is a quest chain.
First thing you do is talk to a Troll out in the boonies,
then she puts a disguise on you, and you have to go into
a town of shadow council people and talk to certain one's.

The trick is, if you are spotted by a "hunter" npc, your
disguise turns off in the middle of them! lol. I lost my disguise
several times, but managed to get away alive each time.

Anyway, here is what the disguise made me appear as. LOL.
Casting spells didn't dispell the illusion, but looting a corpse
would LOL. It's funny to see an orc who looks like a Warlock,
casting druid spells LOLOL

Oh theres not much funnier than that...

The caverns of time segment near the end of the following post is truly interesting, if you played Warcraft II and III and are a fan of the Blizzard canon. You literally go to help Thrall escape his slavery as a young orc, back in the past...

Blizzard's Lovecraftian sneaks:

The name C'thun bears a resemblance to Cthulhu of H.P. Lovecraft's novels, as well as the Chthonians, one of Brian Lumley's additions to the Cthulhu Mythos. Another striking resemblance exists between the name C'thun and the C'tan from the Warhammer 40K universe. It is likely that the words C'thun, Cthulhu and C'tan are all derived from the Greek word Chthonios (Xθωνιος), which means earth (specifically the interior of the earth, rather than the surface). Although there was no specific god named Chthon in Greek mythology, there were numerous Cthonic cults during the classical era. The word Chthonic (sometimes spelled Cthonic) itself is still used to refer to the underworld (being an underground realm, as opposed to Hell or Hades), and is used as an adjective to describe earth-related deities in mythology. It seems that Blizzard, Lovecraft and Games Workshop adapted the word for their own uses.

Read the link you, pretentious fucktard. Space robots? The Warhammer portion which you picked at and subsequently "stood by" is nice and sarcastic, but you OMITTED out the other segments, which clearly explains this is dealing with the WORD and its possible origins.
