The Temple of Dagon

I need to know more about a red gem or possibly also known as the "Sanguine diamond" It was referenced by someone as being a part of the lovecraftian mythos. I am just morbidly curious if any of you have a better grasping of the works of H.P.L. then I do and thereby can possibly send me the facts on said artifact.

Yes maybe I was meant to make the artifact..... Now all I need is a few hundred cultists to sacrifice themselves in a machine that will bleed their souls into diamond enchanted with eldritch magik....

Well for starters you get to completely get rid of all your earthly problems and trade them in for complete (if not momentary) Serenity. Then you will find that your soul will be part of one of the most awesome and awe inspiring things ever. I believe that it might also be the thing that destroys the last of the flyng polyps. Also it has been told to me that such a thng might be responsible for finally freeing the Great Ones from captivity and will aide them in destroying the Elder Gods. Now wouldnt you waant to be a part of something that special?

so this cosmic super-organism, is it something where we'll all be mangled and melted together in a hideous blob of tortured souls? or can we be specific body parts, like antennae or nostrils
