Now, if a shite leaves G.G. Allen at 65 miles an hour, and Madonna passes it off as her newest album three days later, what is the distance between them in terms of talent?

....maybe it's a trick question; ie madonna has no talent to call her own, since all through her career she simply pays someone "hip" to do the work for her while she lip synchs nd fools around with crucifixes... in which case, the answer would be that you cannot measure distance between one point and an imaginary/speculative point

and having said that, I'm not sure that what GG does could really come under the umbrella of talent either... perhaps the question should be concerning origionallity, in which case GG wins

:) I'm glad someone appreciates the sentiment. These days people seem to think that she's somehow "untouchable"... I think that "unbearable" is a closer approximation.

Glad to see RP's magnificient Cacophony getting a mention. To my mind, they were the best of the anarcho punk bands (Crass obviously excepted!).
here's one of the best links for them;

http://www.southern.net/southern/band/RPENI/biog.html

Nick Blinko (singer/songwriter etc) wa sin a mental hospital as far as i'm aware for a while (during which tiome he wrote the Pope Adrian 37th Psychristiatric album) but then gained release and has since released more RP recordings as well as doing more the artwork he is famous for (including the covers artwork for all the RP albums/singles/eps).
as for the seriousness of the subject, again, i believe he was very much an afficianado of HPL.

hope this helps.

cheers.
