But it'd be nice if the pirates, were, you know... PIRATES. Not some girly-boy who got kicked off his own ship. We need more pirates that are actually pirately.

Hell, I'll throw some money into that. Steve Buscemi is amazing. But it needs more Kurt Russel. A lot more Kurt Russel.

no, it's ok.. barnacle pete is frenchy's pet dodo bird. he wears a little eyepatch and one of his legs is a peg.. it's all very thematic and adorable.

SPOILER WARNING!!!!!
the movie portrays the final extinction of the dodo bird when barnacle pete is shot off frenchy's shoulder by a cannonball. coleman then delivers the soliloquy of his career

ps. have kurt russell's people send my people an extravagant bribe, then have my people killed and deliver the bribe to me

Right on!

I am presently waiting for the original film entitled; The Island 77' w/ Michael Cain, a present date pirate flick co-starring David Warner. I really liked this film but it's still not available on DVD. The more recent movie released as The Island has nothing to do with this (much more original) movie. It's got nudity, violence (cool bloodshed), and best of all an excellent storlyine with dialogue that truly delivers.

No one famous came out!!

But the movie was made by the people that actualy study pirates and
Blackbeard, so you know it is based on as close as they can get.

Plus this DVD has some extras on blackbeard that are very interesting!

We need a movie where Kurt Russel and Geoffrey Rush fight to the death as Viking Pirates.
