I do not doubt whether people
call Mr. Obama a fascist, as The Edge says. Lots of people are "called" fascists, from the Pope to Steve Ditko to Hilary Clinton. Whether they actually
are, is quite another matter...
When The Edge says that Mr. Obama is "is a wallstreet puppet", all he is saying is that Mr. Obama is a capitalist politician within a capitalist system. The same was true of John McCain -and for nearly every other politician in the U.S. So as far as this goes, then, Karl Marx would have agreed with The Edge... Whether this makes them "puppets" or not, I guess, depends on how disillusioned one is with the current system.
When The Edge invokes the religious rhetoric of calling Mr. Obama "a judas" and a "false savior", what does he mean? A
Judas to whom? If The Edge means a "Judas" to the U.S. Constiution, I don't think -with a record of domestic spying, torture, kidnapping, secret prisons, suspension of
habeus corpus, unlimited detentions,
et al- one would have to look any farther for blatant
betrayal of the rules and spirit of the U.S. Consitution than former President and Vice President, George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.
At any rate, it is extremely disingenuous for The Edge to disguise his blatant accusations of
treason behind the religious rhetoric of the words "
Judas" and "
false savior." In truth,
all saviors are false. Mr. Obama, from what I can gather, is a sober man, a constitutional scholar, former editor of the
Harvard Law Review, and a state senator. Not a savior, but an intelligent, competent man and a hard worker -which is probably what scares his often hysterical opponents most.
