He did actually play the electric kazoo right up until that unfortunate saliva incident in Copenhagen while on tour.

I heared he could sing...that was off corse till Edison sabotaged his indirect current generator and got 1000volts to his nutsack...

but westinghouse was a bad influence on edison. westinghouse first gave edison the idea of electrified woodwinds: at a high-brow party in north carolina, a thunderstorm gathered and lightning struck westinghouse's dog on the great balcony of an old plantation estate. the dog was playing 'when the saints go marching in,' along with a hired hillybilly jug band, upon an instrument called the caninophone devised for the pet by close family friend tom edison, for little beatrice westinghouse's 10th birthday. the date itself escapes me
