I smell a Temple of Dagon motion picture!!
H. P. Lovecraft and the Cthulhu Mythos

I'd start in medias res, after the bacteria have been revived and exposed to the general population, then let the main characters try to decipher the bacteria finder's research for clues to a cure (while fighting for their own survival in a crashing society). I guess the research would provide some of that "piecing together" effect, but I'd keep the last known evidence of the bacteria's effects fossilized . . . makes it more sinister somehow.Jesus Prime wrote:I'm thinking a "Call of Cthulhu" style piecing together of information, with the reanimated bacteria providing the final revalations. Maybe the journals of some scientist investigating in the rainforests, or maybe on a remote Pacific island could factor in - the last place where these bacteria where alive, possibly in geologically recent times so that the skeletons of the victims are still where they lay, not fossilised, so more can be learnt of the effects. I'm liking the idea.
I figure it'd be pretty drawn out - a bit like syphillis in that it takes months and years for it to really kick in.E.A. Lovecraft wrote:The trick is to figure out what the bacteria does to its victims.
Yah I'd play sythillis....usually takes me months...sometimes years to do anythingodin2 wrote:I want to be the main character....or the bacteria!
