Idk they could both have recessive human genes...he wouldn't be completly human but he'd be human enougth to make it in the real world

See, it comes down to the pairing of chromosomes, and the fact that you're going to get 23 of your 46 from each parent. So if there's two 50/50 hybrids, you COULD get 46 Deep One chromosomes, meaning every strand of DNA is coded for a Deep One. Inversely, you could land with 46 human chromosomes and be a normal human. Odds are, it's going to be a mix.

Now, say one parent has, I dunno, 34 Deep One chromosomes and 12 human ones (I'd say that's a reasonable mix born to a first generation hybrid breeding with a purestrain Deep One), while the other has 32 Deep One and 14 human, 12 of which are from the same chromosome pair that the other parent's human chromosomes are. The odds of the child being a purestrain Deep One are pretty high compared to coming from two first generation hybrids, basically being (1/2 ^12) = 1/4096.

I'm tempted to write an article on this, using basic hereditary biology and theorising as to Deep One genetic makeup. And pictures.
