It was a good movie.
This 'Cthulhu' might be good, if it actually exists, the story is certainly suitable for filming.
The 'Ring' movies and "The Grudge" very much strike me as Lovecraftian in spirit, the feelings of clastrophobia and confusion, the dark secrets just under the surface, and the lack of a definate ending is a Lovecraft signature.
One can only hope.

Both the Ring and The Grudge sucked monkey balls...Lets pray that Cthulhu and any other Lovecraft based movie doesn't turn out like those two...(on a side note, I laugthed my ass of through both movies...)

I don't know why no-one can seem to make a good movie anymore

. Though having just watched Pan's Labyrinth, I think someone should instigate a campaign of threatening phone calls to Guillermo Del Toro about some Lovecraft (replete with buzzing voice effects and dire warnings about the position of certain stars).

I thought it was great, I like things that are occult, bizarre, and gruesome . My parents went to see it and they thought it was great, and they're complete squares...make of that what you want.

I don't quite follow you man...I saw Pan's Labyrinth last night (it was good!) and I didn't see any connections to lovecraft at all...

pino's saying that del toro is such a kickass filmmaker, he should adapt a story from hpl.
here's this other thread where yogi announced a 'mountains of madness' movie.. perhaps prematurely
Hold the wedding!

'Cthulhu' will be screened in June at the Seattle Film Festival.
But that's not the best, it's going to be at the Neptune Theatre, perhaps the most Lovecraftian movie palace there is.
I won't try to desceibe it, but it a blue/green Art Deco romp, the sort of place the Deep Ones would drop the kids when they went shopping, the Esoteric Order of Dagon might hold talent shows, and probably where Cthulhu saw 'Star Wars'.
Oh! Joy Supreme!!!!!

Cthulhu in Seattle...dear god think of the wankering...it'll be horrible

Seattle is many things-full of wankers is certainly one of them.
One evening I was waiting for my girlfriend to finish dropping off her drycleanind, and across the street, I saw a sign in a storefront window that identified it as the St. Germaine Society.
A very odd place, indeed.
I should imagine Cthulhu has a condo there.
(The octopus, and the bananna slug are molluscs prominent in the area, as well as a horror called a geoduick-however, Sylvester the Mummy is good fun, and worth a visit to Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe, should you be in the city).
