You can quibble about which is best, Season 1,2 box Supernatural 1-5 or 3(when the hell's it coming out on DVD, HBO?), but this stunning, multilayered, verite series is simply without parallel in television history. And this is coming from a hardcore fan of the Sopranos, X-Files, etc. I've dug 'em all, folks, set Grey's Anatomy 1-6 but this one sets the complete box Law & Order Special Victims Unit standard. Acting, realism, involving many-charactered story lines, damning commentary on the world we live in The Wire dvd boxset today - it's all there. It is hard going sometimes to watch Family Guy set 1-8 and keep up with - it takes attention complete box set The Wire and diligence, which I think must have something to do with its relative lack of ratings success for an HBO show....but give it a shot, stick with it, and I promise it'll repay your effort. You'll quickly become immersed in The Tudors complete dvd its seedy, but rich world dvd boxset Desperate Housewives and find yourself devoting all your spare time to consuming as much of it as possible...you'll be "fiending" for the Wire in no time flat!
While I thought that season 1 of The Wire was fantastic--it's one of the best single seasons of any show I'v ever seen--I'm a little surprised to House MD on dvd read the overall glowing reviews of House MD series box set season 2. The second go around is certainly quality TV. I liked it and recommend it, but it doesn't compare to season 1. I Cold Case box set don't think it's close. The overall acting and quality of season 2 is strong across the board, but for my money, it fell Lost set short in three main areas:1) Pacing. My biggest issue with season 2 is that it took until almost half way through the season until it really hit its stride. In set dvd Friday Night Lights season 1, I was hooked right in, but in season 2, complete box set The Wire it didn't build The Tudors boxed set much momentum in the first half. Once it did, the season really took off, but even then it wasn't as impactful as season 1.2) Story. Another problem with season 2 is that there were two key "bad guy" story lines going on simultaneously--"The Greeks" and "the dealers", and the creative team didn't spend enough time on either, which diluted both. The two storylines were related overall, but they Criminal Minds dvd boxset didn't connect deep enough, fast enough, so I felt myself wanting more on each side, but not getting it.3) The villains. In season 1, you essentially have the two key sides--the cops and the dealers. Granted, some of the cops were bad and some of the dealers you rooted for--but both sides were intriguing. I wanted to know more and more about them all, and the creative team delivered huge. In season 2, "The Greeks" box set dvd Family Guy were not particularly intersting or compelling, so I didn't care much about how or if Prison Break box sets they got away with it. Moreover, less time was spent box sets The Tudors with "The Wire" squad than in season 1, so as a viewer, I was less invested.Season 2 of The Wire is worth the time, but if you're expecting Desperate Housewives dvd collection the same quality as Season boxed set JAG 1, be prepared for some disappointment. Season 2 is good TV indeed. But it isn't great.
My sole rant regarding this DVD was in the DVD itself, not the show. When disc 1 is popped in the player I had to sit through three to five minutes of HBO self-aggrandizing itself over its shows that could not be skipped or fast-forwarded through. Suffice to say, The Wire (in my opinion) stands an order of magnitude above anything else HBO puts out. Most of what they put out is just tripe crap. HBO - lose the commercial in your dvd set Charmed future releases.Rant over.The show itself was another great season of The Wire. Not either dvd The Wire worse or better than season 1 but different. box set Prison Break What can I say, the acting, writing and direction are all first rate. The huge cast of characters enables multi-threaded story telling and prevents any one or two actors from becoming a "star." The show itself is the star with first rate Scrubs box 1-9 performances from the main players to the bit part actors.My favorite part of the whole season was Omar testifying at Bird's murder trial. Omar dvd NCIS 1-7 emasculating the hotshot defense attorney was priceless. "We ain't no different, I have a shotgun and you have a briefcase. It's all in the game."
