Pick up The King In Yellow by Robert Chambers. There's some excellent "supernateral horror" showcased therein like The Yellow Sign, which by the way is going to be released by Lurker Films, as a film adaptation. Should be pretty cool if it's true to the actual story.
Written in the late 1800s it's not Mythos related but did register among Lovecraft's personal notable authors.
