"Free Drugs for MMO Gamers"

Post by decadence »

I played SWG, EQ, WOW, Lineage II, was on the beta team for GW,
and beta weekends for Auto Assault, and D&D Online.
There are many more, but you get the idea. So it came as a
complete shock to me a while back, when I found a site called

www.onrpg.com

They list every known FREE or almost FREE mmo on the internet.

I found this, my new fetish:

www.knightonlineworld.com

This game has everything an mmorpg lover would want, without a fucking fee.
Normally, in games especially, you get what you fucking pay for.
This game however, has become a crack vial from which I cannot climb out of.

It has item crafting, stats building, clans, castles, capes and clan logo's,
SERVER TO SERVER WAR, and shitloads more. You can UNLEARN and
REDISTRIBUTE YOUR SKILLS at will for a fee to the ingame dudes.
You can upgrade weapons and armor. You can open personal stores.
You can repeat certain xp quests.

And, it costs you O, NADA, ZIP.

The free2play thing is really neat, it opens the entire game to anyone, but if
you want, they have 3 tiers of paid access,
which basically let you have uber stuff for high level. $8.95 for the bottom one.
Compared to WOW, which charges $15 a month and you level cap and then...
nothing, that says something.

Another cool thing it has, in game itself, is a store where you can use
'knightcash' which is earned from killing other players *grin* to purchase shit,
like items or whatnot.

I installed this game last night, and patched it, then ran it. Since yesterday,
I have spent a total of maybe 4 hours ingame, and I am level 15, wearing
PLATE MAIL, and able to dish out damage my that my wow warrior was
able to dish out only at level 20. The current level cap is 180!!!!

I like this fucking game. There ain't no goin back.

Anyone that wants to, we should make a cthulhu clan and kill some
internet cafe' morons en masse...

Here are some screenshots from this FREE online-only rpg...

Some of those textures are rather crappy. Is that how it is or do you have the mipmapping turned way down?

Sounds really cool but how does it run on an old computer??
I would like to join up, but my computer is like four years old and really slow... will the game still work??
