Hey dudes, I'm new around these parts, so I'm gonna make an introduction.

I've been reading Lovecraftian style works for some time now, and I have a special fondness for them. No, not that kind of fondness! Get your minds out of the gutter!

Anyways, I found this site while doing some personal research, and decided I'd have to join.

There really isn't anything interesting about me. So, I'll leave it at that for now.

Yep. I stole it and I'm proud of it!
The funny thing is, I really don't read much Stephen King, I just always like the name.

Yeah! I read the whole series and thought they were great! I also read "The Shining" and about 4 stories out of "Everythings Eventual". If you ever get the chance, read the story "The Man in the Black Suit" in the book "Everythings Eventual". The way Stephen King describes the actual man in the black suit makes me think he created him to look like Lovecraft. Good story too.

Right now I'm trying to read Clive Barkers "Books of Blood". I've never read and of his stuff before, but always liked the movies based on his stuff. Half of the stuff I've read is great, the other half is kind of boring. Also, I didn't know it at the time I bought the book, but I found out that he's gay. In a couple stories he puts gay stuff in it. I can't hardly read those stories. They tend to gross me out a bit.

Barker ties sex and death together and in those there are no genders, only flesh and pleasure.

yeah, the walking dude is the boss villain in the stand. he has other names too, because he's supposed to represent the devil and yada yada.. it's probably the longest book i've ever read. the tv miniseries was predictably disappointing.. but if they got somebody to really make a serious lord-of-the-rings type adaptation, it could be good. i love apocalypse settings

Hail Yog-Sothoth!!

Yeah, actually it explains exactly what the Walking Dude is if you read the Dark Tower series. Pretty good books if you like Stephen King. It's kind of like his version of Lord of the Rings, except more enjoyable.
