Aw, the 70's feel gives everything an automatic B-movie feel too. I love B-movies, lol

They're making a new version of that featuring Dean Stockwell as Henry Armitage and Jeffrey Combs as Wilbur Whateley (ETA: 31 Oct). Even though I didn't really like the story, I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do with it.

man Jeffry Combs is overrated, he played a good Herbert West but he kinda loses his touch when he's in every Lovecraft movie. On another note he's like 5.1...Isn't Wilbur Whateley suppose to be like 7 feet tall?

I don't think it is from any of Lovecrafts books, but it seems lie it was influenced heavily by Lovecraft and King.
The movie's writer/director, John Carpenter, is a big Lovecraft fan, and ItMoM is his homage to the author. Lovecraft's influence on Carpenter is also readily apparent in the movie, Prince of Darkness.
