Source of Simon

Post by Adrian »

This link concerns the Simon version of the Most Famous Book Never Written. I had a stupid discussion with some young gothy type of a person. Anyway, I thought that this article would be very informational for anyone to read who think that Simon was some mad monk escaped from a monastary with the stolen book.
And to those who didn't believe that the Simon version had any real source to it but a money-hungry opportunists imagination. Its a good read, plus informational.

Nice story!

It is a huge pet peeve of mine when I hear people refer to any of the necronomicon variation (simon etc..) as being 'real'.

Don't people find it strange that the "most evil book in the world" would be sold at amazon.com ? :P

The only necronomicon that holds any validity is the one by Giger, because it is simply a portfolio of interesting artwork :) Maybe I need a big section on the truth behind it all. (Not that there is a short supply of sites that explain it - but with the number of believers another can't hurt!)

Peter Levenda, aka "Simon Peters". "The Necronomicon Files", co-authored by a Lovecraft scholar (Daniel Harms) and an occult researcher (John Wisdom Gonce III), sheds a lot of light on the issue of the Al Azif. It's quite an informative tome, covering pretty much all there is to know about the various Necronomicons.

Cheerio!:laughing8:

Well, I kinda skimmed through the article, I'll read it better later, but it was some really cool info. 8) I have to admit that when I just got into the Mythos, I actually thought the Necronomicon was real and was surprised to be able to download it off the net. Now of course I just chuckle at my copy of Da Book. It's still a pretty neat tome of unspeakable (albeit fake) evil. :D
